EFFIE
female/spayed
short-hair
front declawed
grey/tan tabby
about 2 - 3 years old
This
sweet
little cat was rescued by a kind animal lover in downtown
Hamilton. When she first appeared in the neighbourhood, she was
emaciated and desperately wanted to get inside out of the cold.
Her guardian angel must have been watching over her because she found
someone who took pity on her plight and gave her food and a warm
bed. When her benefactor discovered that she was declawed, she
put an ad in the paper and on the Petlynx website in an effort to
locate her owner but there was no response. She thought she might
try to integrate Effie into her own family but her other cats would
have none of it and made poor Effie's life a misery, so she asked AWA
if we could help find her a good home. Fortunately, we were able
to say yes and now Effie is in our care. She has been tested and
her shots updated, so now she is ready to become a cherished member of
a household where she won't be bullied by other pets. She might
get along with another non-aggressive cat but would probably be best on
her own. We have also discovered that she is very allergic to flea
bites and must have regular monthly treatments of Advantage flea
control to prevent any possible allergic reaction. If you're
looking for a feline friend and can offer this
little sweetheart the kind of home she needs, please call one of our
volunteers and arrange to meet Effie.
